William Boyd Williams

Dear family, friends, and fans,

We are very sad to announce the passing of William Boyd "Bill" Williams on Saturday, April 23, 2022, at the age of 73, following a long battle with kidney disease. He joined his Heavenly Home peacefully in the company of his children, Shae Craft, and Nick and Emily Williams, at the Community Hospice Center of Ashland, Ky. He was a loving father, big brother to five siblings, a lifelong entertainer, and loyal friend.

He was known to many for his musical abilities, which brought him the company of some of the best-known artists in the industry, including Fleetwood Mac, BB King, Seals and Crofts, Bruce Springsteen, Chet Atkins, Black Sabbath, Etta James, John Lee Hooker, Toto, Larry Gatlin and the Gatlin Brothers and many others. He was once called a "musical genius." His talents spanned from lead, bass and acoustic guitar, drums, banjo, harmonica, and keyboard.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 30 at D.W. Swick of Wheelersburg from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.

We kindly ask that donations be made to the American Kidney Fund in Honor of him or your charity of choice in lieu of flowers. Please copy & paste the URL below to your search engine to donate: https://fundraise.kidneyfund.org/fundraiser/3877574

I have so many fond memories of seeing Billy play and sitting with him in between sets talking about so many family memories. I loved Billy and imagine that he is singing a duet in Heaven with his Uncle Don.

Time and distance should not keep us from family, I am sorry that time has slipped away and that I haven't seen my cousins as much as I wanted to. Billy was always special to our family, for he had a lot of talent and we were so proud of him ! I know his family will miss him as will my sister Tena and I . Our Hearts and prayers are with all of our cousins : Nick and family, Tony, Teddy, Linda, and Debbie and families, during this difficult time. Love you all !! Tena and Wendy

Bill and I were classmates at Wheelersburg since 1st grade... Bill was always cute, then handsome, always full of energy and very polite... We had the opportunity to visit on the phone several different times; and, he went to dinner with several of our classmates...
That evening, I could tell that Bill had given his life to the LORD just by the way he discussed things, his mannerism and the glow when we talked about GOD...Knowing that made me very happy for him! It means a lot to know that I will be seeing Bill again someday!
Until then, I know Bill is playing music in The Heavenly Band and singing Amazing Grace with the saints; as well as walking and talking with our SAVIOR...
Enjoy Your stroll on the golden streets of Heaven, Bill; maybe even kick up a lil gold dust along the way!
Fly High, Bill!
Love n Prayers,
Brenda
