It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Thomas D. Hopkins, 67, who departed this life on March 11, 2025. Born on October 15, 1957, in Columbus, Ohio, to Richard E. and Virginia (Nee Williams) Hopkins, Jr.

Thomas graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1976 and became an avid tennis player, a testament to his vibrant spirit and love for sports. He enjoyed coaching basketball in Gallipolis, sharing his enthusiasm for the game with young athletes. His dedication extended into his professional life, where he served as a Residential Care Supervisor for the Ohio Department of Disabilities. Thomas found profound fulfillment in helping others and had a remarkable impact on those he worked with.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Dick and Ginny Hopkins, and his beloved son, Thomas Hopkins. He is survived by his brothers, Richard "Rick" (Cindy) Hopkins, III, and David (Gayle) Hopkins. He is also remembered fondly by his nieces: Katie (Tim) Ouellette, Emily (Mike) Arleth, Sarah Fife, and Annie (Seth) Pelfrey.

In honor of Thomas's life and passions, the family would appreciate memorial contributions made to the Hopkins-Fultz Scholarship at the Scioto County Area Foundation.

Private family services will be held at a later date, where loved ones will gather to celebrate and reflect on the beautiful life Thomas led. His kindness, warmth, and love will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.

Thomas's journey on this earth will continue to inspire those he leaves behind, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
