Mrs. Sylvia Joy Hughes Jones, 60, living in Piketon, OH died on Friday July 21, 2023 at Southern Ohio Medical Center Hospice Center in Portsmouth, Ohio.

Mrs. Jones was born in Fitzgerald, Ga on October 17, 1962, to John Newton Hughes Sr. and Shirley Pike Hughes Howard. She was preceded in death by her brother. John Newton Hughes, Jr. , her sister Barbara Ann Hughes, and a great nephew William "Will" Dowdy Jr. She spent her years between Fitzgerald (GA), Milledgeville (GA), and Piketon (OH).

She was a member of the graduating class of 1980 Fitzgerald High School. SHE LOVED JESUS FIRST ABOVE ALL! She enjoyed spending time outdoors with her family and friends. Her favorite place to be, was in the pool, and she absolutely loved the hamburgers her son Jay smoked on the grill! Mrs. Jones attended Temple of Christ Ministries under Pastor Cawarnest Cruse and loved going to the tent to PRAISE AND WORSHIP on the Sabbath as much as she was able to go, even after she had her first stroke. HALLELUJAH!

Survivors include: Her Husband of 22 blessed years, Edward Charles Jones of Piketon, OH. Her sisters, Anita Hughes (Billy) Brown, and Jonnie Sue Hughes Wright, both of Fitzgerald. Her biological children still reside in Milledgeville, Ga. Her son, James "Jay" Queen, her daughter, Brandy Queen Miliner, and her daughter Kristin Queen. Her step daughter Katie Jones currently resides in Piketon, OH. Her 5 beautiful grandchildren: Niah Miliner, Loretta Jones, Brayleigh Miliner, Rico "Rj" Miliner Jr., and Lilly Taylor (oldest to youngest). Her first great grandson is due to arrive Dec 2023. She was a devoted Wife, Mother, Sister, Gee Gee, Mee Mee & Aunt! What a blessing it was to know this woman of GOD! She would want to remind us to clothe ourselves in RIGHTEOUSNESS, PEACE, LOVE, and JOY! TO GOD BE ALL THE GLORY FOR ALL OF OUR MEMORIES WITH HER!

A VERY SPECIAL THANK YOU GOES OUT TO SYLVIA'S NEICE JODI BROWN PAUL, HER DAUGHTER PARIS, AND HER SISTER IN LAW, DEBBIE FITZGERALD FOR TRAVELLING TO SEE HER IN HER LAST FEW MONTHS WITH US, SHE WAS OVERJOYED! I CANNOT NAME EVERY FAMILY MEMBER THAT SHE LOVED SO DEARLY, BECAUSE SHE LOVED THEM ALL THE SAME WITH "NEVER ENDING LOVE"! MAY GOD BLESS YOU ALL AS THE ONE AND ONLY SYLVIA WOULD TELL EVERYONE! HAVE FAITH, AND TRUST THE LORD'S PLAN. HALLELUJAH!
