Our beloved Sherri D Norris, a Clay High School graduate and loyal member of the Portsmouth Rabbit Club, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2024, at her home in Portsmouth, OH surrounded by her loved ones.
Born on March 24, 1960, in Portsmouth, OH, Sherri was a dedicated property manager at Boston Commons and found joy in participating in Rabbit Shows and scrapbooking with her beloved pets, Pidge and Chewy. She cherished spending time with her cats, watching her grandchildren and antiques shopping.
Sherri, a proud 1978 Clay High School graduate and Associate's degree holder from Shawnee State University, was a shining example of perseverance, always leading the charge in planning adventures despite her health struggles. She was a pillar of strength in her 30-year marriage to her loving husband Gerald Norris.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Gerald and Darlene (Nee Sloas) Newkirk, and one sister Jo Uhl.
She will be deeply missed by her husband, Gerald Norris of Portsmouth, daughter, Jeri Norris, her three: Saige, Charlie, and Abrien Lemaster of Friendship, brothers and sister in laws, Mickey and Barbara Newkirk of Columbus and John and Rita Newkirk of Rubyville, her mother-in-law Martha Norris, and sisters-in-law Jeannette and Christine Norris all of Friendship, and Paula Norris, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends and her church family where she enjoyed fellowship and church dinners.
Sherri's Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at 3:00 PM, at New Beginnings Church of God, 227 Maple Street, West Portsmouth, Ohio 45663.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to a charity of their choice in Sherri's memory.
Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we take solace in the memories of Sherri's strength, kindness, and unwavering spirit. Rest in peace, dear Sherri. Your loving presence will live on in our hearts forever.
