Rose Mary Barrett, 72, of West Portsmouth, passed away Thursday, September 26, 2024. She is survived by her loving partner, Alan Thrower; her sons, Donovon (Natalie) Barrett, and Chad Miller; her grandchildren, Brayden, Eliza, Maxwell, and Sullivan; and her brothers James and Bob. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Jane Kelly, and her stepfather, Eugene Parkinson; and her siblings: Patty, Jamie, John, Miles, and Danny.

Rose was a warm and compassionate person, known for her toughness and resilience. She was always ready to listen and offer counsel. She loved her family and friends, and she had a special passion for helping animals, particularly her rescue dogs.

The Memorial Service for Rose will be held this fall with immediate family. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Sierra's Haven Animal Rescue in Portsmouth, Ohio, to honor Rose's legacy of compassion for animals.
