Robert E. Staten, a faithful servant of God, and a dedicated US Army veteran passed away peacefully at the age of 91, in Goshen, Ohio on Saturday, March 2, 2024. Born in New Boston, Ohio, Robert lived a full and purposeful life full of love, service, and devotion.
Throughout his life, Robert served as a preacher spreading God's word to all who would listen, as a US Postman delivering joy and mail to his neighbors, and as a proud soldier in the US Army defending the values he held dear. His commitment to his roles, whether it be in the pulpit, on the postal route, or in uniform, never wavered, earning him the respect and admiration of all who knew him.
Preceded in death by, Parents Ralph and Jessie (Nee Berger) Staten, his first wife and mother of his children, Opal (Nee Estepp) Staten, and his second wife Martha "Sue" Staten, two daughters: Cindy Linville and Beth Fischesser, and four brothers, Ralph, Edward, Donald Staten and Johnny Adams.
Robert will be dearly missed by his devoted son and daughter in law, Dave and Ann Staten of Milford, one step son and daughter in law, Jerry and Grace Kendrick of Cincinnati, Bub Kendrick, one son in law, Tom Fischesser of Anderson, five grandchildren: Jayme (James) Linville of Begley, KY, Opal Michelle (Dave) Wolf of Loveland, John (Heather) Linville, of Eastgate, Shannon (Angie) Fischesser of Anderson, Kenny Fischesser of Cincinnati, Nicole (Kevin) Tenkman, and Katelyn Zhao, one sister, Rita McGee of West Chester, three sister in laws: Lois Staten of Cincinnati, Cathy Staten of West Chester, Marilyn Adams of West Chester, 14 great grandchildren along with many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Honoring Robert's memory and celebrating his life, Visitation and Services will be held on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, 11:30 AM to 12 Noon, Service immediately following at 12 Noon, all at Rest Haven Memorial Park, 10209 Plainfield Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45241. Pastor Mike Callahan and Military Honors from Southwest Ohio VFW Memorial Team. Friends, family, and all who knew Robert are invited to pay their respects, share stories, and celebrate the impact he had on their lives. Robert leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and service that will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him. May his soul find eternal peace in the loving arms of the Lord.
