Monty Luther Hartley was born on September 27, 1955, to Luther and Helen Hartley in Portsmouth, Ohio. He passed away on September 19, 2024, at the age of 68 in Portsmouth, OH, where he resided. Known for his dedication and hard work, Monty spent many decades employed by Meade Paper Co before retiring.

He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Luther and Helen (Nee Rowland) Hartley, and his two sisters, Sharon Elaine Hartley Webb and Sheila Maria Hartley.

Monty is survived by his niece, Shannon, her husband, Tim Hochstetler, and his two great nephews, Roscoe and Matthew Hochstetler, whom he cherished dearly. Additionally, he leaves behind his close friends Kenny and Joyce Martin of South Shore, Kentucky, who stood by him through thick and thin.
