Michael Lewis Sweeney, age 70, of Wheelersburg, passed away early morning, Friday, September 1st, 2023 at SOMC Hospice House.

He was born on March 15, 1953 in Portsmouth, Ohio to Franklin Lee and Nana Lea (Nee Boggs) Sweeney.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother Franklin Ray Sweeney.

He is survived by his wife, Joni (Nee Chesher) Sweeney, two sons: Michael W. and Jared Sweeney, one daughter, Nicole Wright, two stepsons: Adam (Kimmy) Gold and Jonathan Gold, one sister, Sharon Bailey, two brothers: Randy (Kim) Sweeney and Wayne Sweeney, eight grandchildren: Peyton Williamson, Layne Sweeney, Arren Gold, Trinity Sweeney, Vincent Gold, Karsyn Sweeney, Lochlyn Gold and Gryffin Gold.

Michael wished to be cremated. The family requests in lieu of flowers donations be made to SOMC Hospice.
