Michael Ira Levine, who passed away on April 15, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on June 27, 1939, in Portsmouth, Ohio. Michael dedicated his life to education, instilling a love for learning in countless students over his notable career as a teacher. Michael is preceded in death by his parents Milton and Rosalie (Nee Kessler) Levine, and a cousin Priscillia Robinson.
Michael was a proud Army veteran, having served from March 2, 1965, until his discharge on March 1, 1971. His service shaped his character, instilling in him a sense of duty and dedication that he carried into his teaching career and all aspects of his life.
A lover of music, especially jazz, Michael found joy in the melodies that filled his home and often shared his passion for music with friends and family. His diverse collection of historical and biographical books reflected not only his love for reading but also his insatiable curiosity about the world around him. Michael's keen intellect and enthusiasm for teaching encouraged those around him to explore new ideas and broaden their horizons. He took great pride in his Jewish heritage and remained connected to his faith throughout his life.
Michael is survived by one sister, Sheryl Levine of (Roselawn) Cincinnati, OH, three cousins: Alan Robinson of Asheville, NC, Carol (David) Piper, and Julie Silver both of West Chester, OH.
A Service with Military Honors will be held in honor of Michael on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Dayton National Veterans Cemetery located at 4400 W Third Street, Dayton OH 45428.
