Melody Ann Steele, 57 years old, lifetime Portsmouth resident, lost her short, four month battle with Pancreatic and Liver Cancer, on June 23, 2023.

Melody was an accomplished musician, who could play anything she picked up. She loved music and entertaining her family and friends. She was always cookin something, you never left her house hungry......

Melody was preceded in death by her parents, William and Carol Ann (Nee Snyder) Ratliff, husband of 15 years, Perry Steele.

She is survived by two boys, Perry and Jason Steele, three daughters, Carrie (Rick) Hunnicutt, Erica Mathes, Tiffany (Aaron Blanton) Sparks, 19 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, one sister, Mary Jane (Mark Steven Maynard) Bowling, two brothers, William (Karla) Ratliff and Ernest Eugene Ratliff.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, please check back.
