Mary Alice (Mathis) Riley Sanford, 82, passed away peacefully at SOMC, Thursday, March 2, 2023. Mary was born to the late Luther and Maude Mathis on July 24th, 1940.

She was a resident of Concord Nursing home in Wheelersburg, OH.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Charles Sanford, four children: Jeff Riley, Brenda Blevins, Todd Sanford, and Mary Sanford, and a granddaughter, Micah Sanford. She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Paul, James, Lonnie, and Ed Mathis, and four sisters, Norma Snyder, Leeta Stapleton, Nora Justice and Bonnie Taylor.

Mary is survived by two sons, Dwayne Riley of Vanceburg, Ky. and Charles Sanford of Columbus, OH. Sisters: Patricia (Larry) Rowe of Franklin Furnace, OH, Carolyn (Tom) Pelphrey of Fairborn, OH, Loretta (James) King of Clarksburg, OH, and Lana (Greg) Carr of New Boston, OH. Brothers: Elbie (Maxine) Mathis of New Boston, OH, Roger Mathis of Marion, OH, Tom (Bev) Mathis of Mansfield, OH, and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

There will be a graveside service Monday, March 6, 2023, at 1 PM at Sunset Memorial Gardens 8580 Gallia Pike, Franklin Furnace, OH, 45629.
