Ms Linda Lou Lawson

Linda Lou Lawson, 83 of Portsmouth passed away on Saturday, October 30, 2021. She was born April 20, 1938 in Portsmouth, Ohio to the late Arthur and Ruth Jones. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her three older sisters, Virginia Schwamberger, Loretta Bennett, and Donna Lykins; brother-in-laws Paul Schwamberger and Gene Bennett; nephew, Artie Conley, and friend Martha Slark. Linda graduated from Washington High School in West Portsmouth and Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Portsmouth. She began her career in nursing at Hilltop Nursing Home of which she became the owner and administrator. Linda continued her service to the local healthcare community at Golden Years Convalescent Center, Greenbriar Convalescent Center and Heritage Square. To continue support for the local community, she established The Linda L Lawson Scholarship Fund which will assist local students with college education, tuition and living expenses. Linda is survived by her family Patricia Davis, Susan Schwamberger, Peggy and Randy Wheeler, David and Cheryl Bennett, Paul and Sondie Conley, Lynette Conley, Anna Conley Gibbs, Beth and Scott Osterholt and Wayne Lykins along with many great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by friends Janet Doyle and Charlie Dagresta. The family would like to thank the staff at Hill View Retirement Community and SOMC Hospice for the exceptional care and love provided to Aunt Linda. Linda was always one to give to people in need and especially animals.
