James R Schneider
James Roger Schneider, 87 years old, Scioto County resident, passed away peacefully and went home to be with our Lord, on Tuesday, December 21, 2021, surrounded by his loving family.
He retired after 39 years of service from the Piketon A-Plant as a Electronic Maintenance Planner. Jim was a part of the fellowship of Christ Community Church since the 1970's.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Margaret (Nee Porter) Schneider, and four siblings.
He was survived by his devoted wife of 66 years, Carol Sue (Nee Pollock) Schneider of Lucasville, one son, Gregory Schneider (Lora Ward) of Portsmouth, two daughters: Sandra (James Avery) Riggs of Lucasville, Marybeth (Herman Reed) Potter of South Shore, KY,
one Grandson, Shane (Stacey) Riggs of Lucasville, six Granddaughters: Melanie (Josh) Drake of Wheelersburg, Misty (Justin) Greene of Lucasville, Amy (Danny) Bradshaw of Lucasville, Bethany (Eric) Weeks Lucasville, Monica Potter (Patrick Denney) of Louisville, KY, Amy Potter (Blake Jackson) of Louisville, KY, fifteen great grandchildren: Anthony, Brady, Jalynn; Spencer, Mason, Briella; Kylee, Emma; Isaac, Micah, Naomi; Brooklynn, Chase, Ryleigh, McKenna.
The Schneider Family would make a special thanks to SOMC Hospice for all their support and care to Jim.

Visitation will be held Thursday, December 23, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Funeral Service immediately following at 1:00 PM, all at FC Daehler Mortuary, 915 Ninth Street, Portsmouth. Interment immediately following service at Memorial Burial Park, Wheelersburg. Pastor Rick Clark will be officiating.
Jim was like a dad to me. He never knew it but I really appreciated and loved him

So sorry for your loss. Jim was a great man. He always mad everyone laugh. He was always so loving. Great Christian as well. Love and prayers for the family.
