James "Jamie" Michael Barnett, Jr., West Portsmouth resident, passed away at his home on January 7, 2022.

Jamie was well known as a mechanic and his friends and his children were his life!

He enjoyed cars, motorcycles and cooking & grilling out.

He will be greatly missed by many.

Jamie was preceded in death by his mom, Lareda (Nee Jamison) Barnett and his uncle Carl Barnett.

He was survived by his father, James "Mike" Barnett, Sr., of Portsmouth, two sisters: Jackie Barnett of Portsmouth, Jeannette Barnett-Jennings of Portsmouth, four children: Joshua Martin of Portsmouth, Michael "Bear" (Madison Dever) Barnett of Minford, Angelina James-Barnett of South Shore, and Breahna Thacker-Barnett of South Shore, two grandchildren: Bayah and Stormi Barnett of Minford, and children of special mention, Haylee W. Maund and Christopher R. "Duce" Morgan, II.

Celebration of Life Gathering on Thursday, January 13th, 2022, at 5:00 to 7:00 PM, all at F.C. Daehler Mortuary, 915 Ninth Street, Portsmouth.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to F.C. Daehler Mortuary to help with funeral expenses.
