Jackie Clay, Sr., 73 years old, Lucasville resident, passed away after a brief illness, on October 12, 2021, at SOMC Hospice. Jackie was a US AirForce Veteran, 1967-1971. He retired from AEP in 2010 after 39 years as a Substation Mechanic, working out of Portsmouth. He joined the IBEW #71, Columbus, in 2013-2018. He and Marilyn attended the Rubyville Community Church. Jackie enjoyed muscle cars, Harley Davidson Motorcycles and vacations with Marilyn. He was a perfectionist at work and at home. There wasn't anything he couldn't build or fix. Jackie was preceded in death by his parents, Albion and Pauline (Nee Hatfield) Clay and one sister Linda Johnson. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Marilyn (Nee Moore) Clay of Lucasville, two sons, Jackie Clay, Jr., of Minford, and Zachary (Savannah) Clay of Gallipolis, three grandsons, Jaden Jessee of Lucasville, Caunnor and Ryder Clay both Gallipolis, and his beloved bulldog, Cecil, Jr. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 18th, 2021, 5:00-8:00 PM and Tuesday, October 19th, 2021, on 12:00-1:00 PM. Funeral Service will be Tuesday, October 19th, 1:00 PM. Graveside service with Military honors immediately following service in Rubyville Cemetery. Pastor Dave Barth will be officiating.
