HALL DAVID DAUTEL
September 26, 1937 - February 28, 2022
Hall David Dautel, 84, died Monday morning Feb. 28, 2022 in Grant Hospital in Columbus, OH. He was born Sept. 26, 1937 in York, PA, the son of Rev. Hall & Marian (Nee Heberly) Dautel.
He graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1955 then attended Cedarville College and Central State until graduation. He then enjoyed coaching baseball and basketball while teaching math, history, and drivers education at Clay, New Boston, and West Portsmouth Schools.
After receiving his master's degree in 1971 from Marshall University he worked in Industrial Relations at Goodyear Atomic Corp in the training department. He retired after 25 years then continued teaching part time at Scioto School of Business and Math at Shawnee State University.
Most of his life was spent as an active member of Temple Baptist Church where he served as deacon and taught Sunday school for over 27 years. He also was active in the Gideon Bible Ministry then cheered for the Chicago Cubs in his spare time.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of 64 years, Donna (Nee Jarvis) Dautel, his sister Joan Dautel of Fairborn, OH and daughters Debra Dunn of Portsmouth OH and Dawn (Lynn) Elwood of Greenbriar TN. He will also be missed by his 5 grandchildren, David and Kristin Elwood, Allison Dunn, Erin (Dunn) West, Jonathan Dunn and 6 great-grandchildren Nakari, Thomas, Tyler and Trevor Dunn and Kaden and Riley West.
Funeral arrangements by Daehler's will be held at Temple Baptist Church, Friday March 4, 2022, at 1:00 PM, followed by Interment at Sunset Gardens in Franklin Furnace. The family will receive friends beginning at 12:00 until the beginning of the service at 1:00. Rev John Gowdy will officiate the service.
