Glenn Noah Light, 89, of Portsmouth, died Thursday, July 7, 2022, at the SOMC Inpatient Hospice surrounded by his family. He was born August 30, 1932, in Cowell, Arkansas, to the late Noah Light and Ertie Ann (Rutledge) Light.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Thomas L. Light and a grandson, Jeremy T. Madden.
Glenn was a veteran of the US Air Force and retired from the USEC where he worked as a maintenance mechanic. He attended Cornerstone Methodist Church in Portsmouth, Ohio.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Betty J. (Redman) Light. He is also survived by 2 sons; David (Penny) Light of Hilliard, Ohio, and Michael (Margaret) Light of Portsmouth, Ohio; 3 daughters, Davena (Michael) Pennington of Piketon, Ohio, Tamala Coburn of Portsmouth, Ohio, and Teresa (Steven) Timberlake of Portsmouth, Ohio; a sister Laneda (Bob) Brown of Ramona, California; 22 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandsons, and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be planned at a later date by the family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made in Glenn's name to: SOMC Hospice at 2201 25th Street Portsmouth, Ohio 45662.
