With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Fred Jarrell, a beloved father, friend, and dedicated coal miner, who departed this life on November 30, 2024, in Lucasville, Ohio. Fred was born on September 24, 1965, in Madison, West Virginia, to Delmer Jarrell and Delores Brogan.
Fred was a proud member of the United Mine Workers of America, demonstrating not only a strong work ethic but also deep camaraderie with his fellow miners. After only five years of service he became disabled and but still had his unwavering spirit and dedication, traits that he carried into every aspect of his life.
A true aficionado of classic 80's rock and roll, Fred found joy in music that spanned generations, often sharing his favorite tunes with family and friends. He loved watching football, especially during the fall, cheering for his favorite teams with enthusiasm that inspired those around him. Fred cherished the simple pleasures of life-taking long walks, enjoying nature.
Fred's warmth and kindness touched the lives of everyone who knew him. He was a beacon of love and support, creating a legacy of laughter and shared experiences that will forever resonate in the hearts of his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers: Eddie Sparks, Michael Trulove, Nova "Tony" Jarrell and Delmer "June Bug" Jarrell.
Fred was survived by his loving children, Savannah (Drew) Price of Wharton, WV and Hunter Jarrell of Danville, WV; two adorable grandchildren: Paisley and Grayson Price; one brother Jimmy Dean Jarrell of Quinland, WV and one sister Denita Gerichten of Charleston, WV, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Fred Jarrell will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
