Alberta "Bertie" Danes

Alberta "Bertie" (Milliron) Danes, 87 years old, current resident of Hillview, former longtime resident of New Boston, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2022.

Bertie was a graduate of New Boston High School and worked at Williams Shoe Factory for many years. She truly enjoyed working as a Hostess at Ye Old Lantern in Portsmouth. She loved caring and raising children and babysitting. She enjoyed spending her time as a quilt maker, seamstress, lawn care and gardener. She loved spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Karl and Jane Milliron, her husband of 50 years, Harold Danes, one brother, David Milliron.

Bertie is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Joseph "Rusty" and Lois Milliron, of Westerville, and one daughter Mary (Nee Milliron) Murnahan, of Portsmouth, two granddaughters: Amanda (Chip) Huggins of Gahanna, Karleigh (Derrick) Webb of The Woodlands, Texas, two great grandsons: Alex and Jackson Huggins of Gahanna, one sister, Betty (Russ) Hall of Rosemount, nieces and friends.

A Celebration of Life Gathering honoring Alberta "Bertie"(Milliron) Danes, will take place on Sunday, June 25th, 2023. Her wishes were to have family gather to celebrate her life. Family and friends are invited from 12:00-3:30 at the New Boston Eagles

(back room) 3200 Rhodes Ave., New Boston, Ohio. Food & water will be provided, other beverages will be available for purchase through the Eagles.
