David Austin West, Ironton resident, born on October 6, 1960, in Dayton, Ohio, and a proud alumnus of Stiver High School, has sadly departed on 

September 8, 2024, at the age of 63, at SOMC Hospice house in Portsmouth, Ohio.  David, who relocated to Ironton in the last two years, had a 

passion for football, particularly rooting for the Cleveland Browns. He was known for his light-hearted spirit, always spreading joy and laughter 

wherever he went.  Cooking was one of his favorite pastimes, relishing in delicious "Home Cooked Meals," and he always had a soft spot for 

watching western movies and playing cards.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Esther (Nee West) Collins, his brother Rusty Collins, and his sister Gayle Collins. 

David leaves behind his sister Corinna (Daniel) Gray of Ironton,  his sons:  David (Amanda) West of Dayton, Mason (Payton) West of Troy, 

grandson David West, Jr. of Dayton, his niece Amy Halcomb, and his nephews:  Daniel Collins, Joshua, Zackery, Derek and Brandon Gray.

David's zest for humor and his love for good food will forever be remembered in the hearts of those who knew him best. He will be deeply missed.
