David "Dave" Lee Moore

David "Dave" Lee Moore, 72 years old, Lucasville resident, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 4, 2023. Dave was known to his family as the "Firecracker Baby".

Dave was a Portsmouth graduate and was a United States Naval Veteran serving during the Vietnam era, on the Battleship SS Basilone. He was an electrician for over 60 years, working at the Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant for over 30 years. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and coin collector. He enjoyed his family, friends and watching Westerns.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Virginia Ernestine (Nee McGovney) Moore, Jr.

He was survived by his two loving daughters: Brandi (Nate Paul) Stewart and Jessica (Christopher) Blankenship, both of West Portsmouth, one sister, Betty Riley of Portsmouth, three granddaughters: Breanna Sadler, Brooklyn and Baylee Blankenship; one grandson, Jacob Paul, and five great grandchildren: Addi Jo, Carter and Britton Sadler; Braelyn and Brinlee Young, all of West Portsmouth.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at 12:00 PM (NOON) to 1:00 PM.

Funeral Service immediately following at 1:00 PM, all at F.C. Daehler Mortuary, 915 Ninth Street, Portsmouth, OH 45662.

Burial with Military Honors American Legion, James Dickey Post #23, in

Sandy Springs Cemetery, Stout Ohio.
