David Newell Lander Sr., 73, of Portsmouth, OH, passed away in the early hours of New Year's Day.

Dave was born in Lexington, KY to his loving parents, W.E. and Charlotte (Nee Newell) Lander, Jr. He was a graduate of Sayre School and the University of Kentucky. He was previously married to Barbara Baker Lander of Lexington, KY and Susan Floyd of South Shore,KY.

He is preceded in death by his father W.E. Lander, Jr.

Dave is survived by his mother, Mrs. Charlotte (Nee Newell) Lander, Jr.; his three children: Katherine (Renato Coda) , David Jr., and John; and his three grandchildren: Brian Lander, Gavin Lander, and Julian Coda.

He loved movies and theatre, and was known for his gregarious nature, exuberant laughter, and love of cooking.
