Darlene Mae Goad, 94, of Portsmouth, died Monday, May 18, 2020, at Southern Ohio Medical Center. She was born May 6, 1926, in Portsmouth, a daughter of the late Warren and Jessie Wiget Schuler. She was a lifelong member of Evangelical United Church of Christ, the EUCC Woman's Guild, Rosemount Homemakers, and several volunteer organizations. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years, Clarence A Goad. Surviving are two sons, Larry Goad (Dorothy) of Newark, CA; David Goad (Kimberly) of Sewickley, Pa; one sister, Shirley Brafford (Lester) of Minford; grandchildren Carissa McConkey (Jerome) of Ackworth, GA; James N. Goad (Faye) of Shanghai, China; Tristan and Sean Goad of Newark, CA; Seth Roark of Ambridge, PA; Brittany Sharkasi (Adam) of Sewickley, PA; 6 great-grandchildren; special niece, Cheryl White (Jerry) of Rosemount; and loving nieces and nephews. She also was preceded in death by her son, James R. Goad; an infant son; her brother, George Schuler; and her sister, Dorothy McGlone. A private burial will be at Rosemount Ormes Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
