Charles W. (Spud) Newman, 75, of New Boston, entered into the presence of his Savior Friday morning, October 11, 2019, at SOMC Hospice. He was born July 14, 1944, in Minford, Ohio. He was the son of the late Charles W. and Margaret Tolbert Newman. Spud retired with thirty-five years of service as a technician in the cable television industry. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was an avid Ohio State fan. He is survived by his children, Kevin Newman, Scott Newman both of Portsmouth and Beth Hood of N. Myrtle Beach, SC; three grandchildren, Nathan, (Allyson) Hood of Friendship; Megan Hood of Wheelersburg; Brooklyn Hood of N. Myrtle Beach, SC., and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his twin sister, Charlene (Mark) Frame of Chillicothe, Ohio, and sisters Elsie Mahoney, Mary Barnett and Molly Pitts, all of Hillsdale, Michigan. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Thursday, October 17, 2019 at the F.C. Daehler Mortuary with Pastor Kenny Estep officiating. Interment will be at Memorial Burial Park, Wheelersburg, Ohio. Friends may call from 6 to 8 PM on Wednesday and one hour prior to the service.
