Brian Christopher Snyder, 49 years old, of Lucasville, passed away on Monday May 8th, 2023 of lung cancer. However, being the stubborn red head he was, he handled it, the way he lived, his way, on his terms and with his boots on, Dammit! Even mowing the grass until the day he died.

Brian was born 2/15/1974, in Portsmouth, Ohio, to Richard and Mary Snyder. (who both preceded him in death). He was a 1992 Valley High School graduate. On Dec 26, 1998, he married Kelly Sorrell and together they raised a son, Dakota Paul Sorrell, and a daughter Courtny Michelle Snyder, who gave him 3 beautiful grandchildren, Avery, Logan and Kiya. Although Kelly and Brian would later divorce, they remained life long friends.

After moving to Utah, he met (and later married ) Shirley (Fay) McCarroll.

Eventually returning and settling on his family farm in Lucasville.

Brian worked as a Carpenter and in construction and could fix or build most anything. Often joking that he was a "Jack of all trades but a Master of none". He loved fishing and the outdoors, recalling his years with the 3C Camp as the happiest job he ever worked.

His other love was THE Ohio State Buckeyes. Ever fall Saturday, you could find him home, in front of the tv, cheering them on. And although he wasn't fond of crowds, he never met a stranger and was always willing to help a neighbor. He still believed in a handshake and the honor in giving someone your word.

He was always first, during a storm, to check on others and in the Spring, he drove his tractor up and down the holler tilling gardens because that's what his Dad taught him.

Brian is survived by his wife, Shirley Fay Snyder of Lucasville,Ohio. His ex Wife and friend, Kelly Snyder of Columbus, Ohio, Son, Dakota Paul Sorrell, of Columbus, Ohio. Daughter, Courtny Michelle Snyder and his three grandchildren, Avery, Logan and Kiya, of Atlanta, Ga., Stepdaughter, Mahlia Portwood ( James)and stepson, Kobe McCarroll, both of St George, Utah, Siblings Katherine Euton ( James) of Portsmouth, Ohio, and Richard Snyder Jr. ( Jessica) of Huntington, WV. As well as numerous other relatives and friends of Ohio and Utah.

After Cremation his ashes will be scattered at the Snyder Farm in the family cemetery.

A Celebration of his life will be announced at a later date.
