A private burial was held for Mrs. Betty Darlene (Stamper) Wellman, 93 years old, of West Portsmouth, at Scioto Burial Park. Mrs. Wellman departed from her family and friends to be in the presence of her Lord and Savior on Monday, January 3rd, 2022.

She was born October 10th, 1928, in Fullerton, Greenup County, Kentucky, and was the daughter of the late Madeline Gertrude (Bronson) Elkins Stamper and the late Abraham Lincoln Stamper.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her three children: Robert Wayne Wellman, John Darrell Wellman, and Vicki Lynne Wellman, two sisters: Cynthia Katheryn (Stamper) Jacobs Shaffer, and Margy Florence Stamper, three brothers: Clarence Elwood Stamper, William Jackson Stamper, and Theodore Stamper; two half brothers: Jethro Elkins, Jr. and Albert Curtis Elkins; one nephew, Jerry Lee Stamper, and one niece, Yvetta Kay( Jacobs) Doty.

She is survived by one sister Mrs. Gladys Veronice (Stamper) Meyers of Centreville, VA, several grandchildren and great grandchildren and several nieces of nephews.

Betty attended the South Shore Nazarene Church. She retired on April 29, 1994, from the Florida Marine Patrol Titusville, FL and returned to her home in West Portsmouth, Ohio.

She was a 1947 Graduate of Clay Township High School, and was previously employed in the office of Dr. Sheldon Rogers and Southern Hills Hospital, before moving to Florida.

She loved God, her country and her family. She will be missed by all who knew her.
